Illuminate and Rejuvinate
Chemical peels are an important part of the skin rejuvenation process. These professional treatments work alongside homecare products to treat skin conditions and concerns such as hyperpigmentation, photodamage, acne, rosacea, fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels use controlled damage to exfolliate the epidemis and stimulate new cell growth. Results of this process include improved skin tone, tecture, firmness and luminosity. Those with acne-prone skin or enlarged pores will also see an improvement in the appearance of pore size. All chemical peels are performed in-clinic by trained skincare professionals. Optimal results are achieved by repeat procedures in combination with the recommended homecare regiment.
The Science of a Chemical Peel
Chemical peels use peeling agents such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs) and retinol. Applying acids on the epidermis decreases the pH, loosening the bond between dead skin cells and forcing the body to replenish them with new cells. Downtime after a peel varies depending on the depth but typically includes minimal redness and faking up to seven days post-procedure. Post treatment kits are provided to patients after a chemical peel to ensure efficient recovery.
Who can receive chemical peels?
Because chemical peels come in three depths – superficial, medium and deep – and different ingredient concentration, most patients are suitable candidates for this treatment. As with all procedures offered at the clinic, personal consultations are performed prior to treatment and all contraindications and risks are reviewed.
